Release date: April 29, 2019
This release includes several enhancements to the lists & columns to improve accessibility, click-to-action ratio and performance.
Let's have a look...
A new action bar
We're introducing a new action bar in the planning/production/accounting list views.
The new action bar makes it easier to interact with the list with minimal screen estate.
It currently includes:
- A refresh button to reload the list without refreshing the entire browser.
- The displayed items information with page navigation.
- A button to easily configure your columns and other configuration options.
- A button to easily export to Excel and other export options.
In the previous version, these actions were available, but they were not obvious - you had to "discover" them by chance in the "..." button, and they required 2-clicks.
With this new version, the main actions are obvious, easily discoverable directly in the view and require 1-click.
In the next releases, we'll integrate the filters, search and bulk actions in this new action bar for a unified experience to interact with the list...
A new column configuration form
We also completely re-designed the way you configure the columns of your list views:
In the previous version, you could configure the columns of the different modules, but the process was tedious and required multiple clicks - you had to enter a "configuration mode", add the columns individually and then click multiple times the left/right arrows to re-order the columns
With this new version, it's easy as 1-2-3:
Step 1: Select the columns you want to see.
The columns are grouped logically together in categories.
You can use the all/none options to quickly add/remove all columns of a category.
Step 2: Define the order of the columns with Drag-N-Drop.
Step 3: Select the default sorting for the items.
All columns are available in all modules
In the previous version, each module had access to a subset of the available columns. For exemple, the "Corrections" column was only available in the "Production" module.
This meant that a media planner who typically works in the Planning module, had to switch to the Production module to view if a creative project had corrections for a given media insertion.
In this new version, all the columns are available in the Planning/Production/Accounting modules.
This means you can now add the "Corrections" column in the Planning module, or add the "Total cost" column in the Production module.
Configure columns configuration in the Blocking Chart !!!
You can now configure the columns of the blocking chart:
Note that the current columns, namely "Name", "Organization", "Spent", "%Spent", and "Invoice" are always displayed and cannot be removed yet.
The added columns appear between the "Name" and "Organization" columns.
This should be completely configurable in a next version.
Columns keep their style in Excel exports
The Planning, Production, and Accounting modules include several color-coding schemes that are great for highlighting information at a glance.
Now, when you export the lists to Excel, all the color-coding are kept:
That's it ! We hope you'll enjoy these lists & columns enhancements.
Give it a try and let us know what you think !
As always, don't hesitate to send us your great feedback or other idea for new features !
Have a great day,
The MediaPlanHQ team
